Michael Sayegh Elected as Chairman of the Conference to Empower Jerusalem's Economy

The first Conference to Support and Empower Jerusalem's Economy elected Mr. Michael Sayegh, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Sayegh Group, as chairman. The conference was organized by the Turkish-Palestinian Businessmen's Union, and was held in Istanbul on Thursday, 12 April 2018. Dozens of Palestinian businessmen, residing in more than 28 countries around the world, attended the event.

The conference was attended by Fatih METİN, Turkish Deputy Minister of Economy, Turkish MP Hassan Tauran, Palestinian Ambassador in Ankara Fayed Mustafa, and many other official Palestinian figures.

Following his election as chairman, Sayegh delivered a speech in which he called on the conference participants to work hard to make investment decisions and support Jerusalem and Palestine. He stressed the need to follow up on these decisions and implement projects that are agreed upon.

Sayegh announced an initial donation from the Sayegh family to the Jerusalem Investment Fund at a value of one million JD. He also announced that the businessman Muneeb Al-Masri donated one million dinars.

Sayegh stressed that "The great and unified Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Palestine" under Palestinian Arab sovereignty.
